The Story of King Sejong

Sejong was born on May 15, 1397, as the 3rd child of Queen Wongyeong and Taejong (the 3rd King in Joseon Dynasty). In 1418, he came to the throne as the 4th King of Joseon. During his reign, King Sejong developed and promulgated Hangeul (Korea's written language), science technology, culture and arts, military affairs, diplomacy, agriculture, and people-based thought. The "Story of Sejong" will be committed to the place for communication and unification to admire achievements of King .

The Exhibit Hall features the childhood of Sejong King, including anecdotes between Yangnyeongdaegun and Chungyeongdae-gun; Installation of Crown Prince and Enthronement; a place to introduce Sejong's personality and hobbies and display his history with images and video.

Digital rubbed copies of literature, holograms, and models of scientific inventions, as well as anecdotes with Park Yeon, are on display.

Sejong's Military Policy
The Light of the Korean Peninsula Strongly Spreads

King Sejong's military policy led great generals, such as Kim Jong-seo, and included the conquest of Daemaido, suppression of lmanju, installation of four guns, and reclamation of six jin (camp).

Visitors can view the past, present, and future of Seoul through the display of an old map of Seoul and the birthplace of King Sejong in the Joseon Dynasty.
