As in most countries, Korea has several shops where travelers can buy products without
having to pay import duties or taxes. These products can be as much as 50% cheaper than
retail stores. The most popular items include cosmetics, perfume, liquor, watches,
tobacco, sunglasses, and neck ties, as well as traditional Korean handicrafts and
ginseng. The products will be delivered to the airport prior to your departure.
The Korea National Tourism Organization
(KNTO) operates duty-free
stores at Korea's major airports and seaports. Several companies also operate duty-free
stores in Seoul and near major tourist areas.
